Green Building
In today’s buildings, clients are not only emphasizing unique and aesthetically pleasing designs, but owners also wish to integrate features that incorporate earth and energy friendly aspects into their new structures. Our experience constructing LEEDs (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) buildings will enable your green building goals to meet nationally recognized standards.
W. A. Sheets & Sons has the experience and resources to see that your "green" building goals are met. Clients have the option of using the United States Green Building Council guidelines recognized with the LEEDs certification at the platinum, gold, silver or basic levels.
In addition, we offer our clients the alternative of implementing a variety of green building principles into their new or renovated structure without the formality of applying for the official LEEDs certification. We encourage each client to consider the many products and construction methods that are utilized in "green" buildings. Encouraging the use of "green" products that make sense for a particular area or industry can provide the client with the knowledge that they are maximizing the use of our natural resources while incorporating methods and products that provide a positive impact on their bottom line.
We recently completed the new Petroleum Trader’s headquarters in Fort Wayne. This beautiful facility incorporated many "green" building aspects including a rooftop garden to reduce heating and cooling needs that offers employees a unique place for lunch and breaks.
